Talented musician Ruth Mellor recently helped the Harrogate Band launch the 'Women Make Music' campaign in a concert where she conducted her own arrangement of Vienna Teng's deeply troubling song 'Hymn of Acxiom'.
Data brokering
Ruth's arrangement of the American singer/songwriter's choral inspired work that reflects on the modern day phenomena of totalitarian data brokering surveillance, certainly made the concert goers think as it was played by the combined forces of Harrogate and Knaresborough Silver Bands.
Ruth, who will commence studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff in September, told 4BR: "It's a really proud moment for me. I was so pleased with the audience reaction."
