Kerwins focus minds and talents at Shepway

Simon and Tabby Kerwin have just spent a great weekend visit to help the emerging talents at the Shepway Brass Academy in Folkestone.

The youngsters at the Shepway Brass Academy enjoyed their workshop day

Youngsters at the Shepway Brass Academy in Folkestone in Kent recently enjoyed working with Simon and Tabby Kerwin in rehearsals.

The two well known brass band players and conductors made the trip to down to Kent to lead their twin bands, with Simon focussing on the basics of playing and performance whilst Tabby supported the mentor systems.

Varying abilities

Working on music especially developed by Simon to help develop an academy system allowing players to learn and develop as both individuals and as teams of varying abilities, the students enjoyed a morning of intense rehearsal which allowed two bands to play new music both together and individually at their respective standards.
