Yamaha Neo Artist Arfon Owen will leave Norway on Monday for a two week tour of the USA, where he will perform at a wide variety of activities — from lecturing to competing at the North American Brass Band Championships.
Lecture
The multi-instrumentalist has enjoyed already enjoyed a hugely successful career and has performed at some of the world's iconic venues.
During his tour he will lecture at the University of Iowa on the history of brass bands, the art of performance, and about the development of the tenor horn. He will also work closely with brass students giving a number of master classes.
Contest stage
Arfon will also take to the contest stage during his trip and will perform two recitals at the Voxman Building of the University of Iowa alongside the Eastern Iowa Brass Band, as well as competing at the North American Brass Band Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he will be playing with the Tall Grass Brass Band.
There he will meet up with Paniz Golrang, the talented horn player of fellow Norwegian band Sola Brass who is also in America on tour.
