Foden's stars help Trentham off the Boggart

Plenty of local knowledge and the help of Foden's stars could mean that Trentham Band gain extra confidence for their 'Darkwood' Area challenge.

Fodens
Fodens star Mark Wilkinson helped bout the Trentham players through their Area paces.

Trentham Brass recently gathered for a six-hour rehearsal on Dan Price's Third Section Area test-piece 'Darkwood' led by members of Foden's Band.

And it proved to be an immensely rewarding session too, according to MD Mike Caveney as the Midlands outfit looks to make their mark at Bedworth in a few weeks time.

"The full band rehearsal at the conclusion of the day was performed by musicians who were playing with an increased level of self-confidence that had increased their contest appetite."

Memories

During the first hour of full band rehearsal, MD Mike Caveney regaled the players with his 60 year old memories of when his grandfather, who lived locally in Blackley, used to take him to Boggart Hole Clough where they sat by the lake drinking lemonade from a glass bottle through a waxed paper straw.

Foden's stars

After lunch, the band split into sections where Foden's stars Mark Wilkinson, Alistair Campbell, Neil Raisbeck, Gary Curtin, Shaun Farrington, Anthony Mann and Stewart Baglin put the players through their paces.
