Starter for 10: UniBrass has fingers on buzzers

The 2017 UniBrass Championships take place in Harrogate on Saturday — and you can it enjoy it live on the internet too.

UniBrass
The UniBrass Trophy will be up for grabs in Harrogate

The 2017 UniBrass Championships will take place at Harrogate International Conference Centre on Saturday.

Students the length and breadth of the UK will have sacrificed their studies for a few days to concentrate on the musical exam papers of the own choice programmes they will present for the judges in the UniBrass Trophy and Shield competitions.

A First or a Desmond

It promises to be a fantastic day of high quality playing and friendly competition as judges, Philip Harper and Anne Crookston, Leigh Baker and Mark Wilkinson decide on who gets to claim a 'first' from a 'Desmond' come the results.

And a band that has more firsts than a roomful of Oxbridge nuclear physic graduates will entertain the audience before the announcement of the results, as Cory Band showcase their talents in a Gala Concert as well as leading a lunchtime workshop.
