David Childs returns to the USA this weekend to help develop the banding movement.

This weekend the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Brass Band Festival will take place at Rowan University, Glassboro in New Jersey.

The trio of guest clinicians for this year's event includes international euphonium star David Childs, ex-pat conductor and arranger Dr Keith Wilkinson, and Welsh conductor and North American Brass Band Summer School co-founder Craig Roberts.

Five bands

Five bands, including former NABBA Champions Atlantic Brass, Penn View, Rockville, Rowan University and Rowan Prep, will benefit from expert guidance from the UK clinicians in the form of a series of workshops, lectures and performance feedback sessions.

Development

Speaking about the Festival, Craig Roberts told 4BR: "It's a pleasure for all of us to be invited to MABBF, to work with the bands and witness and support the further development of the brass band movement in North America.

Building upon the excellent work of NABBA, and initiatives such as the North American Brass Band Summer School, MABBF and other regional festivals, brass banding in Canada and the United States can only continue to go from strength to strength throughout the coming years."

It's a pleasure for all of us to be invited to MABBF, to work with the bands and witness and support the further development of the brass band movement in North AmericaCraig Roberts
