Blaenavon Town Band has welcomed the return of euphonium player Ryan Browne to their ranks ahead of their appearance at the Welsh Regional Championships in Swansea.

Ryan grew up playing with the south Wales band, moving from cornet to baritone and finally onto euphonium, where he played next to his teacher Evan Smith.

However, after taking a period of time away from regular playing, and following the departure of Andrew Thomas to Crosskeys Band, he has returned to his former position.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "It's a privilege to have someone like Ryan back in the band. Blaenavon is a family band and Ryan is a key member of that family."
