Winter coats still on for Oxfordshire

Bands will be emerging from their Winter hibernation in time for the Oxfordshire & District BBA contest later this month.

  There is a fine turn out of bands for the Oxfordshire & District BBA contest later this month.

The Oxfordshire & District BBA Winter Contest is being held over the weekend of the 25th and 26th February

It takes place at Marlborough School in Woodstock, Oxford (OX20 1LP) and has attracted a strong entry of 36 bands.

Hoping to impress

The First, Third and Unregistered Sections will perform on the Saturday with the Fourth, Second and Championship the following day — all hoping to impress adjudicator Paul Norley.

If you want to come along and listen then entry is £4.50 for each day.

Delph Band

May 15 • We are seeking an enthusiastic and musically skilled Associate Conductor to lead and develop our band alongside our current Musical Director Phil Goodwin. . Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays, 8-10pm at Delph Band Club.


Tintwistle Band

May 15 • We have a vacancy for a soprano cornet, and with lots of exciting engagements coming up we would love to get this seat filled!. We rehearse every Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom in Tintwistle, under the baton of our superb MD, Jim Henson.


Chinnor Silver

May 11 • We are looking for PERCUSSIONISTS to join us as we head into an exciting period for the band.Good and varied diary ahead.. We rehearse on Wednesdays in our own bandroom (so none of that tedious setting up and down)
