Bates to host National tenor horn spotlight

Grimethorpe Colliery solo horn Jonathan Bates will lead a free tenor horn spotlight day at the University of Salford in May. So why not sign up and be a part of it.

  Jonathan Bates will lead the free tenor horn spotlight day at the University of Salford.

There will be a brilliant opportunity for all UK based tenor horn players to take part in an annual day of masterclasses, workshops and recitals in May this year, hosted by Grimethorpe Colliery's principal horn and Geneva artist Jonathan Bates.

The free event will be held at the University of Salford on Sunday 14th May, and will be open to anyone wishing to take part. The day will begin at 10.00am, running through to 4.00pm.

Participant can expect to enjoy:

Brand-new tenor horn ensemble commissions and take part in Q&A discussions and open forums on a wide range of different subjects relating to tenor horn playing

Opportunities to try out new instruments

Meet new friends from across the UK

Unwind with a gala concert at the conclusion of the day

Alongside the other workshop subjects, there will be a specifically constructed workshop focussing on the all important aspect of Performance Anxiety and Nervousness.

The free event will be held at the University of Salford on Sunday 14th May, and will be open to anyone wishing to take part. The day will begin at 10.00am, running through to 4.00pm4BR

Wantage Silver Band

August 20 • Front Row Cornet & Tenor Trombone. We're a friendly, ambitious Second Section band based in South East Northumberland just north of Blyth. We rehearse Tuesdays & Thursdays, 19:30-21:30, and transport can be provided depending on location.


Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

August 18 • Putney and Wimbledon Band are looking for a percussionist, ideally tune although the ability to play an anvil is an absolute must! We play exciting music with lots of percussion so there's plenty to keep you occupied.
