American ban on Norwegian tenor horn player

A tenor horn player with dual Norwegian/Iranian nationality is currently barred from entering the USA to play in a brass band contest.

Stavanger
Paniz Golrang will have to sat and enjoy the delights of Stavanger rather than the USA unless Donald Trump changes his mind

The disturbing fall out of the recent Executive Order decision taken by President Trump to stop entry to the USA of people from certain countries has now affected the banding movement.

Unable to compete

It has been reported that a tenor horn player from Figgjo near Stavanger in the south west of Norway, and who has played with Stavanger Band, will be unable to compete with the Tall Grass Brass Band at the North American Brass Band Association competition in Fort Wayne, Indiana in March.

Dual nationality

Paniz Golrang, who has dual Norwegian/Iranian nationality will not be able to travel from Norway to compete with friends and colleagues because of the U.S. travel ban on visitors from seven countries, currently includes Iran.

Golrang is a dual citizen of both countries, but the current restrictions bar her for entering the USA.
