Entries are now open for the Holme Valley Brass Band Contest, which will be held at Holmfirth Civic Hall 21st May.

Changes

The organisers told 4BR that they had made a number of changes to improve the contest and to attract more bands in all sections.

The generous prize fund will see the Section A winner (Championship and First Section bands) take away £500 plus the opportunity to work with a Rath Trombone artist in concert.

Plenty to play for

The Section B winner (Second and Third Section) will also pocket a hefty £400 with the Section C champion (Fourth, Youth and Unregistered) leaving £300 better off.

With additional prizes and awards there will be plenty to play for as adjudicator David Hirst takes his place in the tent.
