The Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has announced the line-up of adjudicators who will decide who heads to London and Cheltenham from the Scottish Championships in Perth in March.
Pageantry prize
Mike Kilroy and Chris Wormald will judge the Championship Section contenders on 'Pageantry', with the prize of becoming the Scottish representative at the 2018 European Championships in Utrecht on offer alongside the two qualification places for the Albert Hall in October.
The fates of the First Section contenders on 'The Land of the Long White Cloud' will be scrutinised by Brett Baker and Steve Pritchard Jones, whilst Mike Kilroy and Sheona White will compare the Second Section runners on Dean Goffin's 'Rhapsody in Brass'.
Feedback
Steve Pritchard Jones and Chris Wormald will assess the Third Section bands playing 'Darkwood' by Dan Price, whilst Brett Baker and Sheona White will decide on the outcomes in the Fourth Section on Alan Fernie's 'St Andrew's Variations'.
As in previous years, Scotland will feature a Section 4b, with Lynda Nicholson on hand to offer feedback to bands taking part.
Talented line-up
Carrie Boax, SBBA President told 4BR: "The New Year is well underway and that means bands are hard at work ahead of the Scottish Championships. We are delighted to be welcoming a talented line-up of adjudicators to the event, and it's great to see bands again taking part in Section 4b.
An enjoyable weekend is on the cards and I'm confident Scotland can send strong representatives to the National Championships later in the year."
