Foden's Youth get ready for exciting 2017

The members of the Foden's Youth Band will gather for their first rehearsal of 2017, with an exciting year ahead of them.

  The members of the Foden's Youth Band will be meeting for the first time in 2017 for what promises to be an exciting year.

This Sunday (January 15th) Foden's Youth Band will hold their first rehearsal of 2017 as they look forward to an exciting year that will see them perform at a number of high profile events.

Exciting opportunities

Co-ordinator Ian Raisbeck told 4BR: "We are looking forward to welcoming members back to Sandbach after their Christmas break and to working towards a number of exciting performance opportunities in the coming months."

The Foden's Youth Band is open to members aged 21 or under who have reached a minimum standard of Grade 5 on brass or percussion instruments. The band meets once per month in Sandbach, Cheshire on a Sunday morning (9.45am-1.15pm) with concert performances on a number of occasions throughout the year.

Ian added: "Players are strongly encouraged to support their existing musical commitments elsewhere, and the schedule for Foden's Youth Band is aimed at assisting this.

The rehearsals are designed to stretch the young players, offering them access to experienced high profiles tutors, exciting new repertoire and high quality direction."

Foden's also run a Junior Band (as a feeder to the Youth Band) for players between Grade 2 and 5. The Junior Band rehearse as per the Youth Band in Lymm.'
