Although Besson cornet star Roger Webster has been inundated with requests for his advisory services following the announcement of his 2017 nationwide bandroom tour, he will also be continuing to make workshop and concert appearances with bands too.
Free masterclass
One of these is coming up with Wantage Silver Band, part of the organisation 4BR highlighted in a recent 'Take 5' news feature to keep an eye on in 2017.
Roger will provide a free public workshop masterclass, sponsored by Besson, from 2.00pm-4.00pm at the Wantage band hall in Tugwell Field, Wantage on January 21st, which will feature young musicians from several of the bands in the Wantage organisation. Later the same evening Roger will be featured as a soloist with the Championship Section Wantage Silver Band.
Looking forward
MD Craig Patterson told 4BR: "I've admired Roger's playing for many years and I'm really looking forward to working with one of the world's top cornet players."
After a busy Autumn with another victory at the SCABA contest and an appearance at the National Final at the Royal Albert Hall, the band are hoping Roger can inspire both their current players and the next generation to even greater achievements.
