The Guards Brass Band, made up of the finest musicians within the Bands of the Household Division of the Corps of Army Music, will be making a welcome visit to Bishop Perowne CE College in Worcester later this month, as they continue to expand their connections to local communities across the country.
Delighted to support
A Guards Brass spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to support this event — especially as it marks our first performance appearance in this area of the country.
It's very important that we showcase the talent within the Corps of Army Music wherever we can and to help inspire youngsters in a love of music.
Working alongside the students will hopefully do this and perhaps help them consider our line of work as a viable and secure career option."
Concert culmination
The event takes place on Friday 20th January with culmination of the day an evening concert giving the local community hear the musicians in action at the school's theatre.
Players from the Guards Brass Band will also undertake a special performance for primary school children in the morning before brass students from across Worcester will have the chance to take part in a workshop during the afternoon.
Amazing opportunity
Mark Pollard, Headteacher at Bishop Perowne CE College told 4BR: "We're delighted that the players of these iconic Army bands will be joining us for the day.
This is the first time they will have done anything like this in Worcester and it gives our students an amazing opportunity to learn from the very best."
