The Cory Band has announced the appointment of Andy Hewlett as their new Band Manager.

Andy has extensive experience of band management, not just limited to the world of brass bands, and has a great passion for banding in general. He will take on the role with immediate effect.

Delighted

Musical Director Philip Harper told 4BR: "We're delighted to have appointed Andy after Austin Davies stepped down in 2015 having committed many years to the post.

I would like to thank Neil Blockley for the countless hours he has spent as a trustee and treasurer running the band in the last year, as well as many members of the band voluntarily stepping up to do the jobs that needed doing. With Andy now in post we can now move forward with drive and a proactive approach."

Andy impressed at the interview and I'm sure he will do a fantastic job. He has an extremely steep learning curve in the next few months but I know he is looking forward to getting stuck inMD, Philip Harper
