Royal Buckley Town Band has announced the death of Glyn Smith, one of its longest serving members.
True bandsman
RBTB Chairman, Steve Pugh-Jones told 4BR: "Glyn accumulated 69 years of service to us and was a true bandsman. He started playing in the band in 1947.
He was a committed player before taking the baton and leading Royal Buckley to success over many years, before finishing his career playing back row cornet."
He added: "The band has lost a true friend and the banding movement have lost a real character. Our thoughts go to his friends and family at this difficult time."
