December 27th:


Frank Renton casts his net wide for the list of top CDs for 2016, taking in America, France and home grown releases.

There's music from the President's Own United States Marine Corps Band, Cory, and an 80th celebration of Howard Snell. The CD 'Fantasy' by Philip Cobb features some of the finest music making to be heard this year.

January 3rd:


Brass in Concert is one of the most prestigious events in the banding calendar and Frank Renton has music from the entertainment programmes of Grimethorpe Colliery and Brighouse & Rastrick.

January 10th:


Frank Renton with award winning music from Brass in Concert 2016 played by Dutch champion Brass Band Schoonhoven, a rare new march from Virtuosi GUS and a new arrangement of famous London themed nursery rhymes by Dan Price played by Flowers Band.

January 17th:


Frank Renton with some new CDs, including the latest from tuba star Les Neish and 'Of Myths and Legends' featuring the music of Philip Sparke.

January 24th:


Frank Renton is joined by brass band archivist Tim Mutum for another delve amongst his record collection.

CLEETHORPES BAND CIO

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around

April 2 • . Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
