Brass bands and ensembles played their part in Remembrance Sunday services across the UK on the weekend, as people in villages, towns and cities paid their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect freedoms.
Congregation
One such event was a Service of Remembrance led by the Bishop of Norwich — Rt. Reverend Graham James — at Caister Lifeboat Station, where a congregation of over 300 people packed into the boathouse.
The Bishop was assisted by the Reader at Holy Trinity Caister and a Methodist Lay preacher alongside the members of Stalham Brass Band under Tim Thirst.
At 11.00 am the congregation observed the traditional two minutes silence, and seven musicians from the band sounded the 'Last Post' and 'Reveille'4BR
Two minutes of silence
At 11.00 am the congregation observed the traditional two minutes silence, and seven musicians from the band — Robert Thirst, Jasmine Thirst, Ryan Bull, Matthew Holland, Callum Smith, Henry Brooker and Colin Kay — sounded the 'Last Post' and 'Reveille'.
At the end of the service Bishop Graham joined the lifeboat crew to lay the wreaths at sea.
