Widdop takes the helm at Marsden

One of the most experienced conductors around takes over the musical leadership a Marsden Silver Prize Band.

  The experienced Alan Widdop will take over the conducting duties at Marsden

Marsden Silver Prize Band has announced the immediate appointment of Alan Widdop as its new Musical Director.

New leader

The vastly experienced and respected conductor will lead the band as it prepares for a number of high-profile concerts leading up to Christmas as well as the Preston 'Brass at the Guild' and Yorkshire Area contests in the new year.

No stranger

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Alan is no stranger to the band and has a successful history leading us for 10 years, during which time the band rose from the Third to the Championship Section.
