US Open champion Dublin Silver Band has announced details of its forthcoming tour to the UK, which will culminate in taking part in the Brass in Concert Championship at Sage Gateshead on November 20th.
Intensive week
The band will enjoy a week of touring after they fly into Ireland from Ohio, where they will first perform a concert with the Dublin Concert Band in the capital.
The 2016 Irish National Band Champion and claimed the title on eleven of the last twelve occasions and are sure to provide a warm welcome at the concert which will take place on November 16th at the Church of Saint George & Saint Thomas (8.00pm).
Ferry to Liverpool
The band will then take the ferry to Liverpool, where they will perform a joint concert with the St. Helen's Youth Band on November 17th at The United Reformed Church (7.30pm). The band is looking forward to renewing friendships with St. Helen's who toured Ohio back in 2010.
Further travel will see them reacquaint themselves with the town of Bowburn on Friday 18th. In 2008, the then Ohio Brass Band carried Bowburns banner at the Durham Miner's Gala. Ferryhill Town Band will be performing a concert at 7.30pm and Dublin will perform at the conclusion of the event.
Gateshead
The band's final pre-Brass in Concert performance will be as part of the Brass in Concert Festival as they perform at 11.00am at the Northern Rock Foundation Hall on Saturday, November 19th.
