Harper gains Coleman epithet

The celebration of Cory's historic hat-trick victory at the Royal Albert Hall inspired Welsh television to bestow a rather appropriate epithet to their MD Philip Harper...

Cory's achievement in becoming the first band in 21 years to claim the calendar 'hat-trick' of the European, British Open and National Championship of Great Britain was beamed into every Welsh home yesterday as they performed live on air for the Welsh language news and current affairs programme Heno.

Pride

Although the first part of the interview from their rehearsal room was conducted in the mother tongue, there was no mistaking the pride shown by spokesmen Gareth Robinson and Sion Jones as they described the band's feeling in winning at the Albert Hall at the weekend to make history.

Coleman

And there was no mistaking the pride in MD Philip Harper's voice either — although he did seem a little taken aback to be described as the 'Chris Coleman' of the team, before the banding equivalent of the popular Welsh national football manager led his all conquering squad in a rendition of 'Star Wars'!
