Hoover's twin spin helps boost charity funds

The joint efforts of Bolton (Hoover) Band and the Stretford Band saw them boost the funds of a wonderful local charity.

Joint efforts
A wonderful joint effort from both bands raised over £600 for a great charity

Bolton (Hoover) Band recently joined forces with Stretford Band for a charity concert to raise money for the Christie Cancer Hospital.

Rousing style

The concert opened in rousing style with both bands conducted by Ian Mitchell, playing 'Imperial Echoes', 'Light Cavalry' and 'Amazing Grace', before each took a turn in the spotlight.

The first half closed with rousing massed performances of 'Ellan Vannin', 'Mr Blue Sky' and Wagner's 'Procession to the Cathedral', conducted by Craig Mann.

The bands performed to a capacity audience at Bolton Ukrainian Club and the concert managed to raise over £600 for the wonderful charity.

Huge success

Bolton (Hoover) MD, Craig Mann, told 4BR: "The concert proved to be a hugely successful event — so much so, that we're already looking at possibilities for another joint charity concert next year.

So many people know someone who has benefited from the amazing work carried out by 'The Christie', so to help them in this way was fantastic."
