This weekend's Bolsover Festival of Brass which takes place on Sunday 2nd October promises to feature a great mix of brass band music and chat.
Chat, opinions and viewpoints
Not only will the event be broadcast live into homes and community venues from the first band taking to the stage at 9.00am, but there will be plenty of topical chat, opinions and viewpoints from a host of guests as well.
Plenty to say
The event will be presented by 4BR Editor Iwan Fox alongside studio experts Kenny Crookston of British Bandsman and Chris Thomas of Brass Band World magazines.
In addition to participating conductors, players and judges joining the trio there will be a number of leading brass band personalities such as euphonium star Steven Mead to discuss the most pressing topics of the banding movement — from test pieces and player registration to criteria based adjudication systems and even a bit of brass band gossip!
Social media links
And with an 'in-house' social media expert on hand throughout the day, your opinions, questions and viewpoints can be aired to the whole of the banding world.
All you have to do is get in touch!
The broadcast will be aired from the Heritage High School in Clowne.
Success
Following the success of the 2015 event, which attracted viewers from over 30 countries, the 20 minute entertainment sets of bands in the Championship and First Section will be broadcast live around the world, with all performances from the Second, Third, Fourth and Unregistered Sections recorded for future broadcast.
The first band will take to the stage at 9.00am and this year that innovative approach will hopefully see more and more people become involved through social media.
