It was full steam ahead for the newly reformed Horwich RMI Band who proudly marched along at their first public competition last weekend.
The band performed at the Blackburn & Darwen March & Hymn Contest and they certainly made their main supporter proud, with John Fletcher, CEO of estate agents Miller Metcalfe, looking on keenly as they performed Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep'.
Looking and sounding good
And with the ensemble marching through Darwen with their fully emblazoned Horwich RMI (Railway Mechanics Institute) Band uniforms also catching the eye, no one would have guessed that the band was in fact just 9 weeks old!
The band used the professional services of the team at Your Logo Here band to make sure they looked as well as they played — especially when they rounded things off with a brace of cracking renditions under MD Matt Ryan, of the hymn tune 'Love Unknown' and thumping march 'The Wizard'.
A very clear signal has been blown to announce that Horwich RMI Band had returned to the brass playing platformBand Manager Andrea Moss
Thanks
Band Manager Andrea Moss was keen to thank the MD, band members, sponsors and supporters and also acknowledged that thanks to hard work and support, her ambition of reforming the band, had become a reality.
She said: "A very clear signal has been blown to announce that Horwich RMI Band had returned to the brass playing platform."
The band's next public engagement is on 8th October and is a charity fundraising event in aid of Bolton Hospice, at Victoria Hall in Bolton.
