The New Zealand champion will certainly look the part as they take to the stage at Symphony Hall on the weekend thanks to Centre Stage Uniforms.

Ready and waiting: Wellington Brass will certainly look the part at Symphony Hall

Centre Stage Uniforms ensured Wellington Brass Band from New Zealand enjoyed a warm welcome when they touched down in the UK ahead of their appearance at the British Open Championship in Birmingham on Saturday.

On hand

Managing Director Martin Gernon was on hand to personally deliver their new stage uniforms after the band had contacted his company ahead of their trip.

And with Centre Stage employing their market leading talents to ensure that all that was needed were a few minor alterations, the band were able to give them their first outing at a concert at Dobross on Wednesday night.

Leading the market

A delighted Martin Gernon told 4BR: "As we now provide band uniforms all over the world, we are used to taking measurements electronically, so we know whenever something doesn't look right before going into production.

It's one of the advantages of leading the market and understanding the finished product far better than any of our competitors. However, there is always a butterfly or two in the stomach when any band tries them on for the first time! Thankfully with this order everything looks wonderful!"

Martin added: "What also helped was the tremendous communication from Mark Davey and James Sutherland at Wellington Brass Band, who have made the whole process extremely straight forward."

Thrilled

Meanwhile, an equally delighted Mark Davey added: "We are absolutely thrilled with our new uniforms. Centre Stage had been recommended to us from another band in our part of the world, and we now see why!

They produced a great product and were prompt, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. Martin and his team have done a great job for us."

Showcase

The British Open will now be something of a showcase for Centre Stage as well as the competing bands, with Martin revealing that they now provide 14 of the 19 with either uniforms or livery items. "We wish all the bands well — but we hope the audience really raises the roof for Wellington Brass Band."
