Whitburn Band has announced a brace of signings ahead of their forthcoming Land O' Burns and National Finals challenge at Troon and London respectively.
Signings
16 year old percussionist Ryan Bradley links up with his mother Evelyn (solo baritone) and father Chris (principal cornet) in the senior ranks, whilst the experienced Alan Douglas joins on second baritone from Kingdom Brass.
Ryan becomes the second player to fulfil potential that was nurtured through the Whitburn 'pathway' — starting at the Whitburn Wee Band before progressing through their Youth and Heartlands bands. He now joins fellow percussionist Amy Gray who made the move in May.
Rock musician
Ryan, who is also a keen rock musician, made a guest appearance with Whitburn at the European Championships earlier this year and will make his UK debut at the Royal Albert Hall in October.
He told 4BR: "'I'm very pleased to have joined my mum and dad in the Whitburn Band, and I can't wait to play at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall."
It will be a very special moment for us to take to the stage as a family trio at the Royal Albert HallThe Bradley family
Proud
Ryan's parents were understandably delighted, as they added: "We are very proud of the achievements of Ryan and our daughter Lauren, who is also progressing through the Whitburn Band pathway programme.
