The young musicians of Stockport Schools' Brass Band have just returned from five memorable days of music making and sightseeing in Paris.
Following an early departure from their base in Stockport last week, the 30-strong band arrived in the village of Torcy, about 13 miles outside of Paris, and spent the following day at Disneyland, not only enjoying the attractions but also performing on the CineMagique stage at Walt Disney Studios Park.
Opportunities
Two full days in Paris followed, including a performance at Parc George-Brassens in the Saint-Lambert area with opportunities to take in the stunning views on offer from the top of the Montparnasse Tower.
There was also time for a boat tour down the River Seine as well as visits to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Paris-Plages and Tuileries Garden.
Great week
"Everyone had a great week,"Band Chairman, Ian Campbell told 4BR. "They were great ambassadors not only for Stockport Schools but for British banding.
The comments from those listening were so positive — they just couldn't believe the quality of playing from our players given their young age."

Successful
He added: "Aside from the opportunity to take our music-making to new audiences, the week was also a great opportunity to cement the relationships between players which are so crucial to maintaining a happy and successful band."
The band will now enjoy a break over the school holidays before starting work again in September in the new school year.
