Almost 15 years since its first airing, the remarkable Acid Brass association between the artist Jeremy Deller and the Fairey Band continues to break new ground.
Somme commemoration
Jeremy, who has recently gained widespread critical acclaim for his 'We're Here Because We're Here' project — a moving commemoration of the soldiers of the Somme, in which hundreds of actors as First World War soldiers were seen at city railway stations and in towns across the UK — won the Turner Prize in 2004 with a presentation that included Acid Brass.
Ever since the links with Fairey has seen the band perform all over the UK and Europe — and he is now the band's very proud honorary Vice-President.

Huge impression
Fairey spokesperson Nigel Beasley told 4BR: "Acid Brass continues to be a remarkable musical phenomenon — and almost 15 years after it all started with Fairey it continues to stretch out and make a huge impression on audiences wherever it's performed.
The 'Beat Herder' Festival is a superb event and the band is really looking forward to entertaining everyone."
