The North West Area Brass Bands Association recently held their Annual General Meeting, where the following officers were elected.

President: Mal Brownbill
Chairman: Richard Milton
General Secretary: Shirley Woodward
Treasurer: Andrea Moss
Executive Committee Members: Dan Ashton, Peter Bates, Gordon Collinge, Jean Hunter, Jim Hunter, George Salt and Ken Watts

Tribute

The meeting also paid tribute to Ken Watts who was retiring after 13 years as association treasurer, and to Margaret Ireland who stepped down after serving on the executive committee for many years. Ken will continue as a committee member whilst Margaret will continue to help at NWABBA contests.

It was also announced that the Executive Committee is currently working on the NWABBA Rochdale Contest to be held in October and are also looking to set up a training day with a leading local band.

They also told 4BR that the Association welcomes suggestions from member bands as to events they would like to see organised for their benefit.
