Bands from all parts of the country took the opportunity to play a central part in the 90th birthday celebrations of the Queen on the weekend.

Community involvement

From top section outfits to youth ensembles, in bandstands (above), marquees, concert halls or event street corners, hundreds of players braved the elements to provide the entertainment in their local communities as well as in high profile events — from The Mall in London to the Mull of Kintyre.

So if you did take part — bravo — hope the weather wasn't too bad...
