2015 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award winner Grant Jameson has been selected as a winner of the Musicians Company Award.
£10,000
The Flowers Band euphonium player began the start of the process alongside nominees from other leading UK conservatoires. It eventually saw the young American go on and claim the overall £10,000 winner's package following an extensive audition at the Guildhall School of Music.
Huge honour
Grant told 4BR: "It's a huge honour to be selected and becoming a Yeoman of the Musicians Company. Being a euphonium player more times than not poses major challenges when competing against string players, pianists and singers, so finding that I had been selected meant even more to me and to the instrument as a whole.
This will certainly be a huge help towards my postgraduate study, along with continuing to develop my career as a soloist."

Grant also confirmed to 4BR that he intends stay in Cardiff for the next two years to study further at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
