Foden's add to tuba team

After their Whit Friday success, Foden's add further strength in depth to their tuba team with the signing of Andy Cattanach.

Following their record 15th overall Championship victory at the Tameside Whit Friday march contests, Foden's has announced the signing of the experienced Andy Cattanach on Bb tuba.

Return

It will be the second time Andy will have worn the famous red jacket of the Sandbach band after originally joining from Kennedy's Swinton in 1991. He later spent time with Besses o' th' Barn before enjoying 13 years as both player and Chairman of Freckleton Band.

Andy has also been a member of north-west rivals Fairey, although he joins after completing a successful tenure at Brighouse & Rastrick, where he recently played with them at the European Championships in Lille.

I'm looking forward to coming back to banding on my native side of the Pennines with Foden's, as well as being part of a number of exciting projects that the band are currently working onAndy Cattanach

Looking forward

Andy told 4BR: "I'm looking forward to coming back to banding on my native side of the Pennines with Foden's, as well as being part of a number of exciting projects that the band are currently working on."

Highly regarded

Band Manager Mark Wilkinson added: "We are extremely pleased to have secured the signing of Andy, who is highly regarded as one of the leading and most experienced Bb tuba exponents in the UK banding movement. He will be a hugely valuable addition to the team."
