The Geneva Group continued to play their part in supporting the growing German brass band movement as the proud sponsor of the recent German National Championships held in the Bavarian town of Bad Kissingen.
Packed audiences enjoyed the performances of the competitors as well as a concert provided by Brighouse & Rastrick, whilst Geneva's 'Collaborative Partner', 3BA Brass Band, featured Geneva Artist Ben Godfrey on principal Cornet, as they claimed the Championship title for a sixth successive year.
Brighouse spotlight
Before the announcement of the results, UK 'Collaborative Partner', Brighouse & Rastrick thrilled under the baton of Leigh Baker, featuring music as diverse as Lalo's 'Le Roi d'Ys', and soloist's Ben Godfrey delivering a thrilling 'Napoli' and Glenn Van Looy giving a stunning rendition of 'Harlequin' in a 90 minute display of brilliance.
Later that night both bands joined together for the highly enjoyable celebrations. Brighouse & Rastrick were accommodated by 3BA Band at their Musikakademie, Schlossberg in Hammelburg.

Amati purchase
Geneva Group's Tim Oldroyd, also took the opportunity to announce the purchase of the Amati manufacturing plant in Kraslice, Czech Republic, and also the VF Cerveny factory which, established in 1842, is the oldest manufacturer of musical instruments in Europe.
The group will continue to supply the acclaimed woodwind range from Amati, a huge addition to the list of Geneva's current products.
