Broxburn & Livingston Band has played its musical part in the retelling of the 'Scotland's First Oil Rush', a BBC television programme that looked back at the history of the nation's shale oil industry and heritage.

The band was featured in rehearsal as well as playing on what are called 'bings', where the local mine in Broxburn was situated.
Stalwart members Alec Chalmers and Jim Ferguson, and long-serving committee member Tom White were interviewed during the filming explaining the link between the then Broxburn Public Band and the workers at the mine.
