The Royal Academy of Music recently paid a musical tribute to Elgar Howarth on what was the occasion of the maestro's 80th birthday.
Conducting
The concert at Duke's Hall in London saw Howarth take on the conducting duties with Mark David and the Academy Brass Ensembles for performances of his 'Variations for Brass Quintet', 'The Battell' by William Byrd, 'Fancies, Toyes and Dreams' by Farnaby and his classic arrangement of 'Baba Yaga' and 'The Great Gate of Kiev'.
