18-year-old French Horn player Ben Goldscheider, from Hertfordshire, will perform in the final of the prestigious BBC Young Musician of the Year competition after winning the Brass Category Final.

Ben, who also recently performed in the final of the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Musician competition beat off strong performances from the talented line-up of trombonists Gemma Riley (17) and Sam Dye (16), trumpeters Zak Eastop (18) and Zoe Perkins (17).
The Final will be broadcast on Sunday 15 May, which will take place at the Barbican, London and will be broadcast on BBC Four and BBC Radio 3.
