The reigning Champion Band of European and current Yorkshire Regional Champions, Black Dyke will be paying a return visit to Dronfield in June.
Free workshops
And following on from the success of last year's workshops and concert, the event on Saturday 25th June led by Prof Nicholas Childs, will once again see free workshops for brass and percussion at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School.
These will be open to anyone to attend and enjoy — starting at 9.00am and finishing at 3.00pm.
There will be an Intermediate Course for young players up to and including Grade 2 standard led by Keith Britcliffe who will work with young players in a series of full rehearsals with a short concert to parents at 2.30pm.
Concert appearance
Meanwhile, for those of Grade 3+ standard, brass and percussion players can enjoy a day of sectional rehearsals led by Richard Marshall, Zoe Hancock, Gary Curtin, Chris Binns and Adrian Smith.
Full band rehearsals will be led by Prof Childs, with all those taking part in the Grade 3+ workshops having the chance to take part in a concert at 7.00pm at Dronfield Civic Hall working with Dronfield Genquip Band conducted by the Music Director of Black Dyke himself and featuring soloists Richard Marshall and Gary Curtin.
Full band rehearsals will be led by Prof Childs, with all those taking part in the Grade 3+ workshops having the chance to take part in a concert at 7.00pm at Dronfield Civic Hall4BR
