Tongwynlais aim for Open double

Tongwynlais Temperance looks towards Blackpool to claim double major qualification.

Tongwynlais Temperance

Tongwynlais Temperance hopes to continue the excellent form that saw them qualify once again for the Royal Albert Hall at the Welsh Regional contest in Swansea last month.

After impressing in finishing a strong third under the direction of Michael Fowles behind Welsh banding leviathan's Cory and Tredegar Town, the band will head to Grand Shield in Blackpool where they will be led by Cory euph star Glyn Williams.

Confident

Although the band is seeking a number of players to further enhance their contesting strength, the band is confident it can secure its place back at Symphony Hall for the first time since 2011.

Attract

Resident Conductor Christopher Bond told 4BR: "We're keen to attract the right players into the band. We're also about much more than just contest success as we seek to create an environment where players can develop and reach their full potential.

That was certainly shown at the Welsh Area contest and we hope it will be repeated in Blackpool."
