Yamaha Neo Performing artist, Simon Gresswell, recently spent an enjoyable day working with newly crowned Midlands Area champion and reigning All England International Masters champion, Virtuosi GUS.
Invite
The former Black Dyke, Grimethorpe, B&R, and YBS BBb tuba star was invited to work with the bass section of the Northampton based band, to share his 30 years and more of elite level banding to help further strengthen the already solid foundation that the band currently enjoys.
Soaking up
Bass section leader, Tony Whittingham, told 4BR: "Working with Simon was simply fantastic. Soaking up his plethora of hints and tips and taking on board his feedback was a delight and will help us greatly as individual players and as a section."
He continued: "We have a very strong work ethic, and we never rest on our laurels, so even though we are currently enjoying a great deal of success, we continue to strive to improve further.
We really hope to work with Simon again and our sincere thanks go to Yamaha for their help and support in making this possible."
They are a very hard-working team who were so willing to accept feedback and take on new approaches. It was a very rewarding day indeedSimon Gresswell
