24 carat response to new Raw Brass flugels

The brand new Raw Brass flugel horns have been winning over players at the Regional Championships this year — including the new Welsh champions.

Two brand new Ray Farr Raw Brass flugel horns made their debut appearances at this year's series of Regional Championships.

Gorgeous

The critically acclaimed instruments (above), which are making an increasing mark with players all over the banding world, were also on show at the Welsh Regional Championship in Swansea, where the amazing bright silver plate and the gorgeous 24 carat gold plate flugels certainly caused a stir.

Players from a number of bands — including newly crowned Welsh champion Tredegar — made sure they gave them a blow, with Tredegar MD Ian Porthouse also tempted to dust off his lip.

Stunning

"We were lucky enough to use one of the Raw Brass flugels at a recent CD recording we made and you could her why it's making such a mark,"he said. "The new models are stunning to look at and to play."

Chris Waters of County Instruments, the company behind the Raw Brass range of instruments, told 4BR that they have been delighted by the response to the latest additions to the range.

Seek us out

"The enhanced cosmetic finishes are a little something extra on an instrument that we believe offers players something unique.

It's great when we have players and conductors from bands such as Tredegar seek us out to see what all that fuss has been about — and then tell us that how impressed they've been.
