The Ratby Co-operative Band organisation has announced that their 12 year partnership with Musical Director Michael Fowles will come to an end following their forthcoming performance at the Spring Festival Senior Cup contest in Blackpool in May.
Speaking of his decision Michael told 4BR: "It's been a great 12 years with a wonderful organisation. I've been working for the last 20 years with two full-time bands and I feel that I would now like to work slightly differently."
Masters
4BR was also informed that the band is now looking forward to the future, having accepted an invitation to compete at the All England Masters International Championship following their strong fourth place finish under Michael at the recent Midlands Regional Championships.
Thanks
Band Chairman Steve Plant told 4BR: "We would publicly like to thank Michael for his hard work, inspiration and guidance to the whole organisation over the last 12 years, and wish him well in his new endeavours."

Gratitude
Meanwhile, Michael responded by expressing his gratitude to the members of Ratby Band: "I must thank everyone who has been involved during my time with the band and wish the organisation all the very best for the future."
He confirmed that his work as MD of Foden's Band will remain unchanged.
It's understood that Ratby's board of trustees will now take their time to consider the future musical direction of the band. An announcement will be made in due course.
