Black Dyke tuba star Ben Dixon is to be the featured guest soloist at Oxted Band's forthcoming 'Stars of Brass' to be held on Hurst Green in Surrey on Saturday 16th April
Prize winner
Ben joined Black Dyke in 2013, and following three years of study at Salford University where he received the Harry Mortimer Brass Performance Prize and the Roy Newsome Conducting Prize.
He is now continuing his education at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying for a Masters degree in performance.
Gold opening
Prior to the concert, the band will be making their annual appearance in the garden of co-chairman of West Ham United Football Club, David Gold.
Mr Gold, who lives in Caterham, opens his garden every year in aid of the National Garden Scheme charity and St Catherine's Hospice.
