Preparations are currently underway for the hosting of a historic brass band occasion in Long Beach California, when the Western Territory Staff Band will host The Canadian Staff Band, The Chicago Staff Band, The New York Staff Band, and The Southern Territorial Staff Band in a unique concert.
New book
The day (21st May) will start with music provided by the Western Territory Youth Band, along with the Southern California and Sierra Del Mar Youth Bands, whilst the event will also host the launch of a book by the respected author Dr. Ronald Holz that chronicles the history of these five iconic American bands. Each band will also perform a short 30 minute solo concert.

What you see
"What you see and hear will be what the bands normally share as they minister on a regular basis,"said Bandmaster Neil Smith, the West's territorial music and worship development secretary.
The day will be rounded off with a special Gala Concert featuring new music commissioned by The Western Territory Staff Band from James Curnow, Philip Wilby, Stephen Bulla, Kevin Larsson, William Himes and Robert Redhead to mark the occasion.
