Carlton Main Frickley Colliery has welcomed two new players ahead of their defence of the Yorkshire Regional Championship title in Bradford.
Hannah Stell comes in on solo trombone with Jackie Greenstead joining on first horn.
Award winner
Hannah is regarded as one of the region's brightest prospects having started with Kirklees Music School and going on to join Skelmanthorpe Prospect Band.
The award winner has played principal trombone with the National Children's Band of Great Britain, was joint principal trombone with the National Youth Band and is an active member of the Black Dyke Youth Trombone Quartet.
She was awarded the British Trombone Society 'Student of the Year' award in 2015 and is currently studying trombone with Katy Jones, principal trombone with the Halle Orchestra.

Meanwhile, the experienced Jackie Greenstead previously played solo horn with Thoresby Colliery and Newstead Bands.
It was also announced that the band has welcomed back Liz Pope on solo euphonium and Michael Lumsdon on the front row after short break, with Richard Windle returning for the contest from Grimethorpe Colliery.

Delighted
Band Manager Rob Browne told 4BR: "We are delighted with the new signings. Hannah is a really exciting prospect and Jackie is a dedicated, experienced player. Both have fitted into the team immediately.
Liz, Michael and Richard have all played with band very recently and it is great to have them back in time for our Area performance."
Rob added: "We would also like to thank principal euphonium player Toni Durrant for her performances and dedication to the band over the last eight years as she now takes some time out to concentrate on work and family commitments."
