The first update of the World of Brass — 4barsrest.com for 2016 shows quite a few changes near the top of the table following the Butlin's Mineworkers, French and Norwegian national championships in the past few weeks. Flowers, Paris Brass Band and Eikanger-Bjorsvik all enjoyed early season success and will look to build upon their victories later in the contesting year.
The other contests taking place since the last update were:
Brass at the Guild — won by Hepworth;
Durham County BBA — won by Easington Colliery;
Welsh Open — won by Filton Concert Brass.
March is by far the busiest month of the contesting year, with almost 500 bands taking part in regional contests throughout the UK, so we can expect to see plenty of changes over the next few weeks.
