Garner heads to the top with Bradford

The City of Bradford Band has signed sop star Dale Garner to top off their line-up at Yorkshire Regional Championship.

City of Bradford

The City of Bradford Band will head to the Yorkshire Regional Championships in their home city in a few weeks time boosted by the news of a new signing in the shape of the talented soprano player Dale Garner.

Ideal person

The former Marsden Silver star takes on the role that in the past has been filled by Claire Allen and Rob Westacott, although MD Lee Skipsey believes he has now found the ideal person to fit the demanding role.

"Both Claire and Rob have been superb players for us, but had to juggle other commitments, so to have a player of Dale's quality and talent joining us on a full time basis is a huge boost — especially at perhaps the hardest Area contest in the world."

I've been a huge admirer of his playing for some considerable time, so when we had the chance to sign him we acted as quickly as we couldCity of Bradford MD, Lee Skipsey

Enjoy himself

He added: "I've been a huge admirer of his playing for some considerable time, so when we had the chance to sign him we acted as quickly as we could.

I'm sure he's going to enjoy himself with us as we aim to make a real mark on our top flight debuts at Bradford."
