Awards and encouragement for Poulton

Its been a good start to the 2016 contesting year for Poulton le Fylde Band — with awards to prove it.

Poulton

After completing its full line-up of players at the start of 2016, Poulton-le-Fylde Band has enjoyed an encouraging contesting start to the year — including a top six finish at the Brass at the Guild contest and also staging its annual awards night dinner.

Strength to strength

MD Dave Collins told 4BR: "The band is growing from strength to strength as we approach the Area contest.

I enjoy rehearsing a full band and the players are enjoying the challenge of new music as well as a fun social calendar. The awards night highlighted that every player is important and their hard work and dedication allow the band to continue to grow."

Awards

The two major awards for 'Player's Player' was retained by Robert Lambert, who has become a regular fixture in the National Youth Band of Great Britain, whilst the 'Bandsman of the Year' went to Andrew Creswell. Andrew plays a key role both as a player and as Contest Secretary.
