The death has been announced of Graham Probert aged 87, President and one of the founder members of Monmouth Band.

Graham was a tuba player in his early days playing with Monmouth and for a few years with Lydbrook Band.

Real gentleman

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Graham was 'Mr. Monmouth Band' and a real gentleman who loved the band and the people in it. We send our love and sympathies to his wife Jean at this sad time."

Funeral details

Graham's funeral will take place on Tuesday 9th February at St. Mary's Church, Monmouth at 11.00am where Monmouth Band and many of Graham's friends will be providing the music for the service.
