Success
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Over the last five years we have enjoyed a great deal of success.
This included podium finishes in the last three years at Bolsover Festival of Brass, multiple prizes gained at Whit Friday, and two excellent podium finishes at Buxton in 2014 and Holmfirth this year. In addition the band secured a famous victory at the 'Battle of the Bands' contest."
Sad to leave
They added: "We are all sad to see Lindon leave Deepcar. He has achieved so much with us in the five years together and it will certainly be a hard task replacing him. We all wish him the best for the future."
Enjoyed
The departing MD was fulsome in his praise for the band. "I've really enjoyed the past five years at Deepcar in what was my first conducting post. We have achieved and learned a lot together and produced some great performances and results.
However, I now feel the time is right for me and the band for a fresh face to continue their progress."
